Wednesbury Leisure Centre, High Bullen, Wednesbury

The new Leisure Centre at High Bullen, Wednesbury, opened in November 2015. The design team have created a flexible and sustainable centre that contains a 25 metre swimming pool, training pool, fitness centre and dance studios and replaces an existing centre that became no longer viable to maintain.

The success of the centre has meant that the operator has exceeded the target of 1000 new fitness memberships before December 2015.

The council’s decision to regenerate the site by building a very good quality Leisure Centre has been the catalyst for a number of new initiatives including a community fire station and a health centre.

The sports hall has been dedicated to Joel Richards who was a talented FA referee from Wednesbury who was tragically killed in the recent terrorist attack in Tunisia.
